GREAT
ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Coral
Glades Jaguar Marching Band finished their inaugural marching
season by participating in the FBA District 15 Marching Festival
at Coral Springs High School. Along with 25 other bands from
Broward County schools, Coral Glades students were assessed
against a standard by the judges who watched them perform
their "Pirates of the Caribbean" marching show.
The students were excited and proud to be wearing their new
band uniforms for the first time and they looked very sharp
as they marched on to the field. The parents who were there
thought it was their best performance yet and the judges obviously
agreed.
The
band scores where:
Music
Performance: Excellent
Music Effect: Excellent
Marching: Superior
General Effect: Excellent
Auxiliary:
Superior
Final
score: Excellent
These
scores were wonderful
for a first year band.
All
the students should feel very proud and the parents are certainly
proud of them.
Congratulations
to Ms. Larragoity and the band on a successful marching season.
Want
to check how we did compared with
other schols from our district?
What's New?!?!?
Well, I am happy to report the great success
Coral Glades High School and its programs have had in its
inaugural three weeks!!! The school looks beautiful and has
proved to be an extraordinary educational environment.
Since it's opening, the Band, Color Guard, and
Orchestra have overcome many "growing pains" and
persevered looking positively into the future.
The season promises to be an exciting one for every member
of this Instrumental Department including the newly established
Parent Association that has become actively involved in fundraising
and planning for the year. We invite parents of all the programs
to become active in all aspects of this growing program and
support our children and their endeavors.
Please look through the different links to read
what has happened and what is coming up.
- Due to the recent weather inconveniences the Marching
Band and Color Guard schedule has undergone some changes
to help us be successful towards our season goals. We implore
you to check the calendar and adjust yours to help our programs
move forward.
- The Orchestra is beginning their first fundraiser selling
Domino's Pizza Cards and hope the sales exceed our expectations.
They have recently elected their very first officers that
will surely become vital leaders to this program. We congratulate
Alyna, Rebecca, Santiago, Megan, Zach, and Stephen as they
embark on a new journey.
- The Band and Color Guard have had very successful Car
Washes and are in the process of establishing their officers.
Their enthusiasm for this Marching season is beyond inspiring!
- We are in the process of putting together a Fall Trip
to the University of South Florida for the Band, Color guard,
and Orchestra. Please look out for upcoming Parent Meetings
and more information.
- Open House was a complete success!! I was very pleased
to meet with all the parents and reacquaint myself with
you. I hope to make this program a warm and inviting organization
that welcomes each and everyone of you as often as you please.
Thank you all for your support thus far and
I look forward to reporting more good news as the year progresses!!
Musically Yours,
Ingrid Larragoity

Pit Crew Captain,
Sonny Rincon
A message from Sonny
Rincon, our field crew coordinator:
Our inaugural season is off and walking
unfortunately, only a few good men have signed up to assist
with field crew. We are quite fortunate that 80% of the equipment
requires pushing and pulling as we are able to roll them around
with very little lifting. However, the equipment often needs
two and sometimes three individuals to help push it around.
We are asking that you volunteer your time for at least two
hours an event for us to get off and running during the bands
performances.
Please visit our calendar page to find
out our schedule of events. Field Crew helpers are only needed
one hour before a home game and two hours before a local away
game.
Thank you.

There has been questions about he release
time on Fri. Ms. L. confirms that rehearsals are from after
school til 5:30. If the sections are extending there rehearsals
that is within that particular section and parents should
ask their child about any extended times.
