Choreography: articulation and dynamics in the first movement, tempo, tuning, and dynamics in the second movement
Enigma Variations: IV - in tempo, confidence, IX - eighth note confidence (cellos and violas), intonation (2nd violins), connecting the bow, no dropped phrases, no bar lines (WINDS TOO)
Mozart: SECOND VIOLINS EVERY NOTE IN TUNE, cellos/bass focus on direction of line, 1st violins focus on melodic contour and dynamics
Advanced Strings
Work on Mozart Divertimento (1sts, 2nds, and Violas) and Bassoon Concerto (ALL) slowly to tune each note. Work especially on F to F#, B to Bb, C to C# and work on bow control.
Choreography 1st and 2nd Mvts. Bring out accents, articulation, and dynamics.
There will be a scale test next week and Solo & Ensemble will be on March 8.
REMEMBER TO TAPE ALL MUSIC, NUMBER ALL MEASURES, AND BRING A PENCIL.
